Second Shooting is always a fun experience. Working alongside Nikki from Curved & Co was definitely on my list of things to do.
The challenges with second shooting is you're typically meeting the couple the day of their wedding, you have to learn personalities and make the couple feel like you've known them for years. With Lauren & Troy this was easy. Very rarely do you find positive energy with this super laid back couple.
Troy shared with me the story of how they met and their first date. What makes this wedding so cool and unique is the first date was a restaurant called "The Smith", that just so happens to be directly across the street from the hotel where they would Elope.
Rudney Novaes Film Theory workshop was an opportunity I could not miss. When he announced the workshop would take place at Oheka Castle, I knew I had to go and see this breathtaking venue in person.
Film photography is a new process for me and it really changes the way you capture a photo. Film challenges you to think more and find ways to be creative. As photographers we are constantly learning and trying to become the best we can be. Film photography has always been an interest and for years I've been emulating "the film look" so it's always been a goal to learn.
Here are my scans from the workshop.
I had a amazing opportunity to capture this beautiful bride and groom at the historic Ocean House in Rhode Island.
Attending this workshop was an amazing experience to take a deep dive into film photography. I will now be incorporating film in all my work moving forward.
